Great Crochet, Pinehurst, NC
Debra Facciolo, originally from Oklahoma City, was raised in a military family of 13 surrounded by lots of creative souls in arts, crafts and music. She learned to crochet in high school from her best friend’s mom and used it throughout a professional career to wind down after a stressful day. The feel of the yarn and rhythmic pace of the stitches was quite soothing. As retirement approached, she began to design and crochet unique women’s and girl’s fashion items with a post-retirement occupation in mind. Having 8 sisters and tons of female cousins and nieces, feminine fashion was a natural choice! She enjoys using festive colors and flirty, feminine designs that are fun and exciting.
Debra focuses on crocheting scarves, shawls, ponchos, vests, summer dresses, cover ups and tops for women, as well as dresses, vests and holiday outfits for babies and girls. Styles range anywhere from formal wear for events and weddings – to practical everyday wear – to beach, cruise and swim wear – to 70s festival throwbacks! She sells her work on her website, in person at art festivals, and at boutiques and artisan shops in the Pinehurst NC area. Since size, style, and color preferences vary widely, she gladly takes custom orders through any of those venues.
