Amy Perrier, Hendersonville, NC

Finger Painter, Amy Perrier is a former Michigan artist now living in Hendersonville, North Carolina.

Amy participated in Fine Art Shows in Michigan, winning numerous awards and accolades for her work. She won Best of Show on several occasions and has been featured in Northern Michigan’s premiere magazines. More recently, Amy with her unique painting style was featured on the cover of the Bold Life Magazine (March, 2015), and her work was chosen for the Hendersonville Art On Main, Fine Art Fair (2015) promotional cover, and again for the 2016 Fine Art Fair. She was also interviewed by WLOS TV, and appeared in the Carolina Moments segment.

She expresses nature’s subjects in a more painterly fashion; always looking for beautiful and interesting combinations of color and texture.

Her work is painted with acrylic paints, incorporating various techniques to add depth and interest to the work. It ranges from representational to abstract and to that end you will find her using a palette knife or her fingers, and rarely painting with brushes.

“I love using my fingers to paint much more than picking up a brush. It gives me balance; direct control from fingers dipped in piles of paint and then onto the canvas, while at the same time I feel a sense of freedom from getting caught up in little details.”

Amy and her husband currently live in Hendersonville, and she spends most afternoons in her studio/gallery on the corner of Erkwood Drive and Greenville Highway, just south of Hendersonville. Her studio is open to the public and she welcomes art enthusiasts to stop in and watch her work.
