S
ince 1982, the Charlotte Folk Society has been dedicated to promoting the ongoing enjoyment and preservation of traditional and contemporary folk music, dance, crafts and lore. The volunteer-powered non-profit is celebrating 36 years of bringing the folk arts to the Charlotte community and beyond.
This year’s Folk Stage marks the Charlotte Folk Society’s 22nd year at Festival in the Park. Come by and listen to storytellers, Celtic, old-time, country, honky tonk, and bluegrass musicians. Enjoy folk and gospel singers, singer/songwriters, and dancers from several traditions. Feel free to clap your hands, tap your feet, or get up and dance to the music!
A detailed schedule is listed on this website under schedule of events. Check out the Charlotte Folk Society website at www.folksociety.org for information about free and family-friendly second-Friday concerts at the Great Aunt Stella Center, 926 Elizabeth Avenue, Downtown Charlotte.
