Kings Drive Art Walk kicks off 14th year at the Little Sugar Creek Greenway
May event to feature 100+ artists from across the US
Charlotte, N.C. (April 4, 2024) — Kings Drive Art Walk (KDAW) returns to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. With a wide array of fine arts on display and for sale, the KDAW also features performances by acoustic musicians arranged along one of Charlotte’s most scenic outdoor settings. This 14th annual Kings Drive Art Walk is free and open to the public.
Artists from eight states along the east coast will be offering fine works for sale in numerous media, including paint and drawing; sculpture; pottery; and metal, stone, wood and glass works. Art is available at a wide range of price points. Mecklenburg County Parks & Recreation serves as the host of the KDAW. Piedmont Natural Gas is the Green Sponsor of the event.

Pedestrians should take special note that utility construction near the intersection of S. Kings Drive and
E. Morehead Street is currently blocking access to Little Sugar Creek Greenway near Atrium Health. Pedestrians walking from East Boulevard and Freedom Park may use the sidewalks along S. Kings Drive to access the Kings Drive Art Walk.

About Festival in the Park and the Kings Drive Art Walk
The Kings Drive Art Walk was founded in 2011 by Festival in the Park, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Charlotte. In 2024 Festival in the Park celebrates its 60th year of bringing the Charlotte community together through arts events which are free and open to all. The organization’s namesake event is held in Freedom Park each September.
This project was made possible, in part, through our cultural partner, the Arts & Science Council, the N.C. Arts Council – a division of the Department of Cultural Resources – and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
