About Festival in the Park and the Kings Drive Art Walk

The Kings Drive Art Walk was founded in 2011 by Festival in the Park, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Charlotte. In 2025, Festival in the Park, a Charlotte tradition,  celebrated its 61st year of bringing the Charlotte community together through arts events which are free and open to the public. The organization’s namesake event is held in Freedom Park each September.

This project was made possible, in part, through our cultural partner, the Arts & Science Council, the N.C. Arts Council – a division of the Department of Cultural Resources and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
