Cape Fear Rum Cake, Wilmington, NC

A lot of people ask what makes our Cape Fear Rum Cakes different from the Caribbean.

– We strive to find the balance between rum and cake so you can taste the rum and the cake.

– While we offer the traditional standards like Golden Vanilla, Coconut and Pineapple, our more unique flavors include; a southern inspired Rum Velvet that’s smooth and accented by the creamy texture of white chocolate chips, a rich Cherry Chocolate that tastes just like a cherry cordial and a decadent Dark Chocolate that I suggested when I was pregnant last year. This year we even added a Gluten Free rum cake to our flavor list and we will be debuting our newest flavor, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip in September.

– We bake everything from scratch and in small batches to ensure that you receive the highest quality dessert. All of our cakes are double glazed for a moist and delicious flavor. Real rum is the secret and serves as a natural preservative that will keep the cakes fresh in the box for 6 months.

Danny and I met in Fort Lauderdale in college and after moving up and down the east coast we set out on a ten month RV adventure that took us around the US and back to Wilmington in 2012. Wilmington had always been a place we loved since I had spent my childhood summer vacations here but it had few of the artistic careers we had enjoyed in larger cities. Baking cakes is a way we get to work together and live in the city we love. We’ve been baking Cape Fear Rum Cakes for four years now.
