Began painting seriously after youngest child was born, started in oils, then pastels, watercolor, and finally acrylic which is her medium today. Art classes taken at Averett, VPI, as well as doing many work shops. Norma is a charter member of the Danville Va. Art League, though the years she has served on the board in many capacities. While painting in her studio she draws inspiration from her love of gardening, the ocean, and Charleston SC. Having won numerous awards through the years, she hopes others will have a peaceful contemplation as they view her work. She would like the viewer experience a joy of memories of places they have encountered in life.
