My name is Laurie Burke and I am the designer of Agua Stone art décor. I started Agua Stone in September of 2020, after moving to the beach in North Carolina to find healing after the loss of my six-month old grandson, Jax Bottje. As I took walks along the shoreline, I was in awe of the beautiful stones that wash up from the ocean. Having had a home décor business previously, my mind couldn’t help but think of all the beautiful pieces of art décor that I could create with them. As I began creating, I realized how much this outlet helped in my healing process; but also realized that I could help others who are dealing with the rare congenital heart defect that Jax had–through Agua Stone’s donation of 10% of sales to the research that Stanford Children’s Hospital is doing on Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia and MAPCAs.
My hope is that any purchase made of my stone art décor brings the owner a sense of the calmness and peace that nature and art have the amazing ability to give.
