I label myself as a Artisan Blacksmith. I design and create elegant hand-forged Home & Garden Art. Each artistically unique original is made solely by myself, with hands-on quality of workmanship, utmost attention to detail, strength and durability. My metal products include Shepherd’s Staff Hanging Planters & Bird Feeders in a variety of styles & sizes, matching Brackets to hang them, Plant Stands, hand-crafted Copper Patina Flowerpots, Furniture, Fireplace Tools, Sculpture, Whirlygig Wind Vanes and Architectural Hardware. All are created using traditional and modern blacksmithing techniques and tools, heated in fire, then forged and shaped on anvil. Solid Steel, Copper and Bronze are my most commonly used metals. To enhance the forged elements, I often use wood, glass or stone. My own durable finishes & patinas are then applied. For the products that are outdoors, year-round, I apply a more weather-resistant finish, called powder-coat. I developed my passionate obsession for forging & shaping metal at the age of 13. In 1980, I decided to pursue my artistic bent and make blacksmithing my full time profession. Now reside in the quaint town of Todd, NC, where my hand-built studio sits nestled under a canopy of shade trees on a lush bank at the headwaters of Three Top Creek – always cool for forging!
