Amy Yarger is a local artist who loves painting the stories that can be found in the garden or deep in the woods. Her work is not like the impressionists she loves and definitely not like the realists that she admires, but an odd enough combination that argues enough in her work to create her own illustrative style.
Creating art since first holding a crayon, Amy received a BFA from Florida Atlantic University in her hometown of Boca Raton, Florida. Though she spent the years after as an educator and taking care of her family, Amy never stopped creating. From inspiring students with a creative learning project to designing Halloween costumes for her own children, she has always had some art or craft project taking up space in the dining room.
Amy has spent the past few years getting back into serious practice and working on developing her style. Her artwork is often inspired by mythology and folktales, illustrating adventures of small creatures who live in the woods. Letting imagination loose on her canvas, Amy invites you to come take a look and discover a story.
Amy currently lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, two amazing daughters and Pepper the Wonder Pup.
