Gaines Bailey Pottery, Durham, NC
Each of these ceramic pieces is designed and handcrafted by Gaines Bailey to be beautiful and thoughtfully functional. Each item is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe, and created with layers of texture and glaze that provide a depth of visual interest. The kitchen ware is designed to fit your cabinets, but you won’t want to put them away!
The work is thrown on the potter’s wheel using stoneware clay. Any texture is carved into the work by hand before they are fired. They are finished with layers of attractive, safe, and durable glazes that provide variety to the surface. After the clay is fired over 2000 degrees it is as hard and durable as stone, and ready to be used daily.
