Benjamin Peterson was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He moved to Florida in 2001. Benjamin works predominantly in the medium of metal, but includes stone and a variety of river rocks and slag glass in many of his sculptures. His artistic process began with of years of hands-on work with marble, slate, and granite. He used remaining pieces for a variety of beautiful mosaics and décor for home and garden. In addition, he studied under other artists that taught him how to weld. Benjamin enjoys the hunt of finding various industrial metal remnants and repurposing them. He believes their aged life is complimentary in color to landscapes. He lives and works from his home studio in Tampa Bay, with his wife, Sarah. He enjoys fishing and being in nature, which gives him time to gather inspiration
