Christina Becher Art, High Point, NC
With a BFA from Washington University, I began my art career as a graphic designer. Upon the birth of my children, freelancing has been my focus and during the last few years I have returned to my watercolor painting full time and recently with alcohol inks.
The flow of the paint, along with the spontaneous and ever changing reaction to the water continues to make each painting exciting, new and different. Yet along with this aspect, I am always drawn back to my graphic training and love to combine my paintings with graphic elements. Whether it is abstract or realistic paintings, this interaction of the painting and water will determine how the painting evolves.
As I tell my husband, I will let the painting “talk” to me and this allows me to let go of any preconceived notions and let the wonderful qualities of the watercolors pull you into the paintings.
Several of my paintings are in private collections in Atlanta, Ga; Alexandria, VA; Raleigh, NC; and Greenville, SC.
