Bottle Trees and more by Cindy
Toledo, OH
I get to play with fire! I trained as an attorney, which had many advantages, but did not particularly emphasize creativity, or artistry. My late husband, the electrician, invited me to join him in glassblowing lessons in the then-new Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art, which he wanted to do in order to get a behind the scenes look at the electrical systems! We thoroughly enjoyed the classes, and I still rent studio (hot-shop) time at the Museum. When I started blowing glass, I used to bring a box of it to the office every month or so and require the staff to take pieces with them in order to go home. Now that I am retired from the practice of law, I need to attend several art fairs each year, because my basement gets too full. I am delighted to be here, and I am very flattered to be asked! I hope you enjoy my version of wine bottle trees.
