James Hofmann Photography, Moneta, VA
I photograph landscapes, mostly in American Parks and National Forests. I seek images that show the beauty and drama of nature. I also enjoy shooting old ruins, man’s work that is returning to Nature. The images are about light and how it affects the scene, and how to distill the 3D landscape into a 2D piece of paper in a way that retains the excitement I felt when viewing it.
I make my own prints using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to present the scene as I intend. My prints are pigment ink on paper or canvas, printed using Epson printers. My prints are numbered and limited to editions of 250 prints. All sizes are included in the count. All prints are signed in the lower right corner just below the image. I also mat and frame my images using archival materials. The mat is signed in the lower right hand corner as well.
