Out of Our Gourds, Winston-Salem, NC
In 2015 two friends, Lynn Archbold and Lori Mowen, were trying to find something they could do with a dried gourd other than making a bird house. Their search of the internet led them to the discovery of gourd art and they began experimenting with different ways to carve, paint, dye and weave these organic vessels into works of art.
They soon found that their creative passions led then down two different paths: Lynn transforms her gourds into beautiful and thoughtful sculptured works of art, while Lori strives to create functional gourd lights and lamps that reflect beautiful patterns on the walls and ceilings.
Out of Our Gourds was formed to showcase their unique, one of a kind decorative gourds and lights.
