Lucas Hundley Woodworking, Newland, NC
My name is Lucas Hundley. I grew up and live in Jonas ridge, NC, where I began woodturning as a child with the encouragement of my family and continued to study wood art through college. After college woodworking took a back seat to the demands of everyday life. However, when my day job evaporated at the start of the covid epidemic, I decided woodworking needed to be more than an expensive hobby that took up my basement. I have since participated in the LEAF music festival and the Valle Country Fair for the last two years. This year I participated in the King’s Drive Art walk. My work is represented in the Toe River Arts Council, Crossnore Weaving Room and Anvil arts. I was selected to participate in the Winter Show at the Greenhill Center for NC arts. Through my business I hope to grow the influence of locally made crafts and art in American society. I work to prove the value of having locally made objects as part of your life and I strive to increase the exposure of local talents through collaborative work.
