Photography and fabric have always been a part of my life. As a daughter of a seamstress, I learned to appreciate all types of fabric from drapery and upholstery fabric to dress fabric. As the wife of an artist, I found myself taking multitudes of reference photographs and developing my photographic eye. My creative side desired to print photographs in some unique way without being under the glare of glass. After a journey of learning new techniques this desire has become a passion. My current medium is high resolution digital photographs taken specifically for printing large scale images on satin fabric using dye sublimation. The process of printing on satin produces crisp and vibrant colors with depth and a sheen that changes with light. Most of the prints are limited editions. It is my hope that my images connect to a time or place that will evoke a memory, thought, or feeling that will bring joy.
