Rocking Bee Farms, Star, NC

Inspired by beekeepers in my family, I took the hobby up about 13 years ago. After my very first honey harvest I was hooked! A couple summers later I began to sell honey at local farmers markets and the business grew from there. I moved honey bees around North Carolina to capture specific varieties of honey such as sourwood and ink berry; always coming back in time to gather our delicious wild flower honey, too. Selling honey, beeswax products and honey bees themselves, I’m very often meeting people from all backgrounds and points of view. I’ve taken the job of beekeeping and honey seller to a new level with my creative uses of honey and beeswax.

I create all my recipes, and package every one of my products. When looked at as a whole, my honey, and honey and beeswax products make a fun, professional and cohesive statement. My booth is always shopper-friendly, with samples of just about every product I offer available for customers; and quirky in its design, peppered with beekeeping equipment throughout. My business thrives on word of mouth, so customer service is second only to product quality for me. I’m always happy to answer questions at shows-often spending more time talking about beekeeping with customers than selling honey!
