Natasha Brunton Handmade, Charlotte, NC
I have been an artisan for the much of my life. As a trained artist and educator, I’ve spent all of my adult life creating, learning, and, eventually, teaching.
I’m currently a middle school ELA instructor with Charlotte Mecklenburg schools. I’m passionate about art and education. I currently work in multiple mediums, including wire-work and metal-work jewelry, fiber arts, soaps and candles.
The meditative process of creating a particular piece–orchestrating a cohesive composition of color, shape, and texture–becomes a part of the piece’s impact and influence on its wearer. I’m a perfectionist and extremely detail-oriented; it is through my functional art that I am able to funnel my creative energies and share my craft in a meaningful and useful manner.
