Mrs. Patricia Boyer (Tricia) was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Mrs. Deseree and Mr. Lewis Smith, and is the youngest of 21 children. At the age of 12 she attended North West Junior High School where her 7th grade art teacher Mrs. Adams was a big inspiration to her. Mrs. Adams always told her that she had a talent for art. Mrs. Adams entered her picture of Santa in an art competition where she won first place. Her first place prize were gift certificates to McDonalds whereas she was able to feed her whole entire family a nights dinner. It was during this time when Tricia discovered her passion for art.
Tricia now resides with her husband of 31 years, Mr. Larry Boyer in Charlotte, North Carolina. She has 3 children and 4 grandchildren. While drawing free-hand and art has been a passion in her life throughout, Tricia has been inspired over the past 6 months to paint. Her beautiful and colorful acrylic painting began during late sleepless, mind-wondering nights due to the illness and passing of her loved-ones. The passion behind her paintings is knowing that she can make herself and others smile, no matter what each was going through in their lives, be it cancer or depression. She uses the colors to express her feelings and to release her emotions, the colors in her paintings represent her thoughts. Tricia is inspired tremendously by her autistic brother and daughter who also draw.
Once the paint is on the canvas, her artist mind comes into play through the stroke of the paint brush. Tricia gives her paintings to others who love and are touched by her works. The opportunity to display and demonstrate her original paintings at this years Festival in the Park would be an excellent addition to the event. Others will definitely benefit from the experience that Tricia has to offer through her paintings.
