I artistically design birdhouses, bluebird boxes, jewelry boxes, keepsake boxes, ornaments, magnets and now light-up stained glass boxes. My process for everything except the light-up boxes is to begin with unfinished wood birdhouses, boxes, & wood shapes. I sand them smooth then create the design. Most of my mediums are from recycled or repurposed items likes corks, paper, gift bags, metal, lichen along with charms, and broken jewelry, paint, clay, rocks even glass. As for the light-up boxes I cut stained glass to design the lid of the box along with grout. Sometimes incorporating many of the mediums listed above. Many portions of my art is painted by hand & construction glue is used to secure most everything in place. Once dry, I coat each side of my art with resin to get a beautiful strong-glossy finish. I use battery operated tea lights to light up the mosaic boxes. I love to watch people explore my art and the closer they look, the more they see.
