Vivian Coleman Art, Charlotte, NC
Vivian Coleman is an award-winning visual artist creating contemporary abstract paintings using acrylic and watercolor. She takes a bold approach with her art in parallel with her determination to live life fully. Vivian’s style typically includes vibrant colors and textures that tell stories originating from a life best enjoyed in adventure.
Vivian’s creative journey began in her grandmother’s art studio and garden and has taken her around the world – from hiking in the Himalayas, Iceland and Morocco to kayaking quiet rivers and running sled dog teams in the Alaskan and Yukon wilderness. With a Master of Landscape Architecture from NC State University, Vivian spent over three decades shaping more walkable, bikeable and people-friendly communities as a city planner and landscape architect. Vivian, the visual artist, is creating art pieces that are often inspired by landscapes, travel, and a lifelong love of the outdoors. The same thoughtful approach to Vivian’s work in landscape architecture and place-making show up in her art, where texture and color combine to evoke memory, movement, and mood.
